Monson: MWC needs freedom from Liberty (Salt Lake Tribune)
It’s time for the Mountain West Conference to leave the building. And bag the Liberty Bowl. Memphis might as well be Minneapolis or Moscow or Mudville to the MWC. It may be suitable for Conference USA’s big dog, but sending the Mountain West champ to Graceland is a bad idea, and almost everybody knows it. Las Vegas is better. San Diego is better. Phoenix may be best of all.
